Step 2 of 3. Three suggested names first (the first is already selected), with ‘New suggestions’; typing your own sits behind ‘Choose my own’ with the real-name warning (decided 25 Sep: both, generated first). Without the demo API the suggestions come from a local list and the check against names of recognised bodies is a plain word match; with the demo API they come from the API, which also checks the name.

In the real design

The app generates a pseudonym per platform; bidi controls and confusables are filtered (Unicode TR 39); released names are never reused.
